Gears are a good choice
I am not sure what gears are available for 7.5 rears, but you can buy & have gears installed for less than 500.00. It doesn't add any power, but makes better use of what you already have. I'm not sure if you can reflash your ECU for the new gears, so you will probably also need a new transmission odometer gear (they are like 25.00) to recal your speedo.
Gears are some of the best bang for the buck improvements. They really wake up your Pony!

There is 3.55, 3.73, 4.10 and 4.33 for the 7.5" that I know of. If you chose the gears then you should get a T-lock at the same time so both wheels grab, not just one.
Depending on what you're planing on doing later, the 3.55 is good for a turboed setup, 3.73 for NA and 4.10's for SCed
Will need the new tranny gear.

dude F gears and being a Tlok for the 7.5.......then pay sum1 to install? hell no......buy a GT 8.8 rear...and do it yourself a lot easier and cheaper on the wallet....cold air intake, pullies, headers, mid pipe, dual catback if not a GT takeoff catback and switch the mufflers, get the car tuned along with a throttle body and you'll be making some nice power....along with better traction...wont be faster then me yet lol but it will be a huge improvement from a Sn95 V6

Let me say first off, that I agree with you. Save your money for a better investment. 99% of the guys and gals in the aftermarket world will tell you to save your money for the end all, be all upgrades; but the guy specifically said he had 500.00 to spare and what could he do with it? That tells me two things.
1. That he only has 500.00.
2. Since he is looking for advice on spending his 500.00, I am going to ASSUME (no offense Mustang 94) that he either doesn't have the tools or knowledge to swap out a rear end himself, or he would already know exactly what to do with his cash.
Now we can recommend stuff all day long. A new V8, a blower, N20 would all be great. This guy just might not be looking to go crazy with his daily driver or may have four kids to feed. Who knows? I'm not trying to belittle anyone here, but none of that helps with the scenario he posted. So with that said, can anyone think of a more NOTICABLE improvement than gears for less than 500.00?

I'd go with Flowmasters.. not a whole lot of performance gain right away, but it looks better, sounds better, and you can build on it down the road with other mods as you get the money. You can buy the kit for less than $500 easy.
If getting the Flowmasters for a V6, it just bolt up to the Y-pipe, and it only gives a boost in sound, not performance.
And IF later on, he want to get a supercharger later. He must/should get a H or Xpipe, and then he needs to get another catback system.

I would get a free flow muffler like Magnaflow and lowering springs. No the springs won't make it faster but it will handle much better, sound better and look better.
