My clutch has been slipping a little between gear shifts for the past 6 months and the other day it was slipping in 5th gear at about 70 mph on the freeway so I figure its time to replace it. I was looking at the king cobra clutch and the centerforce dual friction. Which clutch would you recommend? I was also thinking of purchasing the steeda cable, quadrant and firewall adjuster. Any other recommendations? I do plan on rebuilding the engine soon with ported PI heads and some CMS cams. Initially I was going to wait to install the clutch when I pulled the engine for the rebuild, but I am not ready yet and probably won't be until this fall. Thanks for the help
I wouldn't go with centerforce. Thats what I have and it has been a lot of trouble for me. I've had take it out 4 times total. I've had the clutch on for about a year and it is already starting to slip...However, I run it hard at the track. I'm going to go with clutchmasters next time. I've heard great things from them.
Clutch Kit Free shipping on this bad boy too.....good cheap solution. What bolt crank do you have though? I run a fidanza 4 puck in my 97 and needless to say I could probably bend steel with my left leg now.
i just put in a centerforce dual friction and the pedal pressure is decreased significantly. i love it so far and had never heard of any problems with them untill antirice98's post.
I run a Centerforce DF clutch, fidanza AL flywheel, UPR AL clutch quadrent and firewall adjuster. Car shifts great, pedal feel is awsome, its not a job to drive the car.
Just put in a RAM HDX set that I got from Amrican Muscle... Very happy with it so far. Especially for the price. I paired it with a Steeda cable, UPR quadrant and firewall adjuster and couldnt be any happier!
Cobra clutch, OEM cable, UPR triple hook quadrant, UPR Firewall adjuster, Stock flywheel, UPR shifter. Great pedal feel and good wear.
