Naw.....it's because I'm a Firefighter at heart! Heaven is not ready for me and Hell's afraid I'll put it out!
It's OK. Now you know. I enjoy all the barbs & verbal brick-bats aimed at me, though, just look at BBFCM & SD! I'm thier favorite target! Car -wise, almost done with the hood hinge, then wire up the lights, wipers in seats in, then it's road worthy!! I'm starting to really like the 17"'ers on it!
That's not necessarily true! We prefer the leg-humpers as targets, but you are a challenging target and take some skill and finess, whereas the leg-humpers are just too damned easy to get!
What he said! Besides, you may not realize the respect you actually command. Maybe you will when a guy I know researches and finds a way to email you asking for a meet and help with a KR he's collected and on which he wants to complete the restoration. Wants to pick your brain. See my post in your "World Tour" thread.
[Igor voice].......and a good brain it is too....Abby..........., Abby........., Abby somebody-or-other's brain...........[/Igor voice]
Thanks for the good words. Mucho appreciado. SD - My convention schedule is very tight, but if he wants to call or e-mail, I'd be very happy to hgelp. Or a better idea is to bring the Shelby to the convention.
I'll pass that info along to Bill, and see if he's interested in making the run to Fontana. Then it's up to you guys to meet, as I'll be on the northern San Diego County Line at Boy Scout Camp with my guys. What we really need to do is to drag you out of the frozen Northeast during March. Come down for Midnight at the Oasis; see Bill's car(s), Lou's car (the unrestored KR 'vert), Dan's cars (There's always at least one Shelby in his stable - I don't think he sold the 350H to get the 68 350 ), and all the other cars that descend upon Yuma on the second weekend in March. Many Stangs, T-Birds, a few Cobras, Panteras, Fairlane/Torinos; plus a lot of "other" Detroit Muscle and the typical antiques, 'rodded and otherwise. Bill would undoubtedly guarantee you a ride during the Friday afternoon Cruise and Poker Run. Hmmmmm, given the amount of West Coast "classic performance" at MATO; maybe Hemmings should send an intrepid (and Cheap!) reporter down to cover the show for several of their publications! EDIT: Update- I just sent Bill an email (CC: to your Stangnet mailbox) letting him know about this exchange, and left him your (again, Stangnet) email address. Hopefully you guys can get together.
DAMMIT DAN!!! You started this damn project last year, and you're still gonna be done before I finish my damn Mach! :damnit: I envy your quick progress. It does look very damn cool too... makes me wanna build one. Let me ask you though, you think there's room in one of those things for a buddha? You know... 5'11", 350-ish???? Probably not, huh? Congrats on the progress... keep it up and keep us posted!
Height yes, girth, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... My goal is to get COBRASK8 in street ready state by my birthday next week. Basically, work left to get it legal is wiring up the lights, Install the wipers, put in the dash & seats, and finish the radiator support aluminum, then................ VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! On the streets!
Hee hee! Actually, finally made the commitment to myself to get it on the road. I've been waiting too long to make this dream a reality. Believe me, lots of work, time, work, time, and $$$$!
