I recently contact Gary at SmoothLine.com about their current Hardtop for the 99-04 Mustang. If you look at it... well... the rear window is to small, the quarter windows cant be rolled up, and the roof line is not right.

I asked them if they would consider developing a hardtop for the 99-04 cars that addressed these issues:

    1. Allow the quarter windows to be rolled up with the top on
    2. Have a rear window glass that looks like the coupe (instead of a tiny window)
    3. Design the roof line with the A and C pillars to look like the coupe and the overall roof line to look like the coupe.
    4. Design fitment around the back edge of the car to not wear the paint or trim and look correct and not out of place.

I feel if they can do this many people will be interested.

I got a reply back that they are actually considering this (before my email of course) and would like to gauge the market to see who would like this type of thing. The price will probably be around 1400-1800.

So... who likes the sound of this, who would be interested (if it looks good and all that). I barley ever drive my car with the top up but in the winter it would be a nice solution if executed correctly. So reply back to let me know if you would like something like this and your concerns so they know what you want if they try to develop something.

I assume 94-98 would just require a different locking setup other than that it should be the same.

FWIW, SpectorV if you get enough interest for what appears to be a "group purchase in the making," please let staff know down the road so that it can be approved by Mike Raburn/Stangnet.

    Thanks and goodluck.
