In the engine compartment, where water comes out when the AC has been used, is now gushing coolant. So rigt now im in the process of taking out the AC unit from under my dash, and now Ive seen some coolant on my mat.

Is this a common thing, what should I do?

And I have the first unit out, that take a vaccuum line to turn on the AC(the same with the fan) now the heating unit is semi-exposed, but Im stuck right now, and cant see where to go from here

Replace the heater core. I've had to replace them in every Mustang i've owned

Yep the heater core is a common failure. Its an easy but time consuming task. The dash has to come out, or at least completely loose and pulled away from the firewall.

Yep. Your heater core has failed you. There are lots of writeups about how to change one out on the net if you do some searching.

You can bypass the heater core temporarily if you need to continue driving the car until you are able to get to it.
