Here is another exhaust thread. :bang: I have spent way too much time looking for exhaust ideas for when my car gets here. So far, I have not come away with a clear winner, I understand that hp increases will be slim to none with any exhaust system. Corsa claims 13 hp ? Imco claims 20+hp ( :bs: ). I cannot find dyno results on the various Mustang sites for just the Loudmouths, and since SLP will not return my E-mail in regards to dyno results on the Loudmouths on if they actually lost HP or Tq I am on the fence about those. The rumor that Flowmasters lost a pony or two does not sit with me well (might as well keep stock). This brings me to my title question. I have now started looking at the Corsa's, the soudclips on the site sound good, but the price is crazy. The flow through design is supposed to be the only way the mufflers can add some power, to the good stock mufflers. They look basically the same as the Steeda setup, (Does anyone have sound clips of these) SLP powerflows, one of Borla's setups. Soundclips are hard to find for these setups. Are all the coffee can style axle backs basically the same? if so the SLP power flows are reasonably priced. But the Corsa's both look and sound great, from the one soundclip I've heard on the website.
    thanks for any information.

You know...here is another question. They always talk about how the Flowmaster mufflers loose a lot of power on NA or FI cars yet there are a lot of race cars that use them. For example the TransAm series cars have almost always used a Flowmaster muffler and it wasn't a rule that said they had to use that they just had a dB rule to meet, I wouldn't see a pro race team using them if it costs them power on a motor they spent so much money to get every last one they could.

Have you thought about Bassani? The quality and fit is top notch, and that signature Bassani sound is hard to beat. When I was doing dyno testing the other night, I picked up 4hp and 5 ftlbs over the entire powerband just adding the exhaust. Not a huge gain, but repsectable for just a muffler change (axle back kit).

The Mustang Source has a 2 page exhaust sticky. There are a lot of vids and soundclips. I saw a thread on modular depot a few months back on the Corsa. They have a "dyno" backing it up but i'm skeptical. Even so for the price for the 13 hp I would rather save up for a s/c. Just my .02

Yeah my wife is getting tired of hearing the sounds from that sticky, problem is the recordings are so bad on most of those it's hard to tell. before my car gets here, I plan on going to a few car shows to listen. ( I live in arizona, so we have the scottsdale pavalions every saturday night) With the discount that is being offered for stangnet members for the Magnaflow magnapacs, this is another option. I originally only heard the standard Magnaflow setup, and it did not sound much different in my opinion. The Magnapacs sound pretty nice. How do these compare in sound to the bassani's for those that have heard both in person. and to the Bx bassanis sound different from the SS ones.
    Thanks..

I gained a lot of sound and a great rumble with the FLowmaster AMerican Thunder axle-backs. No HP loss, but no gain either. I love cranking it up in the morning and setting off the alarms in the other cars...

    jvm051-
I would recommend the Bassanis also. They have an awesome sound to them. Not to load IMO just right. The Bx and the S.S. are exactly the same in design and sound. The Bx are made from a aluminized steel, where as the other is stainless steel. Both perform the same. Since you live in Az, I would say go with the Bx-series(cheaper). It is nice and dry out here in Az.No worries about rusting. Just my comments.

Do you have a full service shop or are you just online? After the car is finally in my hands I may come down and visit if so.

MAC mufflers are completely stainless, the entire muffler body and tip is polished to a mirror shine, they have 4 inch rolled tips and sound great, and are definitely not too loud. They will set you back a mere $225 for the pair. Go to www.macperformance.com for info on these and other great products.

Well, I just checked MAC's website and it looks like they jacked the price up to $350!! I bought mine in FEB. from a local speed shp for $225. I guess they knew they were too cheap. You can find them by other retailers for cheaper probably.

I ordered one of the first corsas and was very dissapointed with them. The right side hangar was 1" too long causing it to not fit in the bumper hole properly.Corsa reps treated me like crap when i asked for a new system(they wanted me to take pics and use me as a test mule for the problem)I think for what I paid they just should have taken the system back and sent me one that fits!!!!Not only that ,but the corsa system is so heavy that it weighs more than the stock system. And believe me the soundclips are way better online than what you hear in person.LS1speed.com was nice enough to take the system back(even though corsa did not want to warranty it from them)and they hooked me up with the steeda system, which I am VERY happy with.

Steeda is basically the borla axleback without the rolled tips.Steeda has slash cut tips like stock(but bigger).Steeda is a little cheaper because of this.My wife had the SLP loudmouths and I thought the steeda was much deeper toned all over except at high RPM's where the SLP was awsome.I'd rather have steeda/borla than SLP(JMO).

When did you order your Corsa? I just got mine and plan to install them tomorrow. I hope they got the bugs worked out. I have to admit that the sound clip and no drone technology they claim is what sold me on them. They are not cheap as you know and I am counting on them being as good as they claim they are. I too think they seem very heavy.
