I wanted to get a car cover (quality outdoor one) and stopped by the dealership. The guy at the service desk told me they retail for $325 and that he could sell it to me for $299. He said it comes with a case and is custom fit to my Mustang so it will have a nice tight fit.

Is this a good deal or is there something better out there? I will be storing the car for the winter and since our barn was destroyed I will have to keep the car outside (that's why I wanted the outdoor one)

I don't know if this would be helpful nor not ?..But perhaps you could look within your local area and see if anyone might be renting out their garages..In my area there's several of my neighbours who own more than one property that rent out garage space for storage purposes..It would really be a shame if you have no other option but to let your Stang sit outside all winter..Otherwise, check with places such as Steeda, Livernois Motorsports, Mustangs Unlimited or even Summit Racing or Ebay and mossmotors.com I'm sure they have custom car covers for your Stang...Anyway, sorry that I wasn't able to be more helpful..

Yeah, I was kind of upset after the barn was destroyed (partially because it was a nice barn, but mostly because it meant outside storage for the car) I'll perhaps look into the "U-Store" places; however, for the time being I need to look at covers in case all else fails.

I'm sure if you follow cruizin-on's along with my recommendation and other members, you'll be bound to find a car cover that's right for your Stang..I wish you the very best of luck and am very sorry to hear about your Barn..

The average price for a decent car cover should run around $250 - $300. These types of covers would have multiple layers to keep moisture and UV off of the paint while still allowing a little oxygen between the vehicle body and cover.

If you store your car outside in the winter, get a cover with 3 or 4 fabric layers. One thing I'll point out: When it rains, and I mean rains, the water will splash on the ground and then up under the cover (on to the rockers and doors.) So make sure the bottom is securely fastened.

I ordered my car cover on Aug 30th. It is a Wolf cover. They say 11 days shipping and they aren't kidding...hopefully here today. BUT it is a top quality 4 layer cover for $175.99 shipped. Here is the website...

looked around for about a month - ordered a Beverly Bay from Amazon - It is heavy, 4-layer including a very soft fleece lining. It just came monday, so it hasn't seen rain yet, but it is supposed to be waterproof and breathable. It comes with a storage bag and I was very happy that it has a strong nylon band that goes beneath the car at the middle from side to side with a snap to hold it in place - great feature. The bad - the mirror pockets sewn into it don't line up for the stang, but I just folded the pocket inside out. Oh, it cost about $80.00 delivered
