I going to bought Nittos DRs 275/40/17 and I gonna put on my stock tree bars 17x8 rims , so can I put those tires on stock rims , I mean those tires are wider than stock 245s

So if anybody have pics of those tires on stock rims , please post here

like he said, they'll fit... but honestly, the tires are a bit wide for a 17x8, so you'll lose some of the predictability in the handling due to sidewall flexing angles... plus some people don't like the way it looks when the tire sits out from the rim... they fit much better on the 17x9 rims, nice and square

personal opinion: stick with 245/45's on the 17x8's until you pick up some wider rims

but ultimately, its your decision... you have to decide your own goals for the car

OK , I know what you mean, I gonna you my car on track around 50-70 runs per year , plus car is daily driver so there is 10k miles per year, I don't goinn to autocross , I don't doing doughnuts anywhere except burnouts
I wanna know is this safety to use this tires ONLY on back (like fall off ), one front I use 245/45/17s so those 275/40/17 tires going on back

Go 275's and don't look back!!! I know of NO ONE with stock 17 wheels that runs DR's to run anything smaller than the 275-40-17. I run 245-50-16 nittos on my car (not for long), but I have many of friends with 17X8 wheels that drag race and run the 275's without any problems, they bulge a little, but not enough to worry about.

My suggestion, is to put 275/40/17s on the back, and 245/45/17s on the front. This is what I will be running (currently have ****ty 235s toyos on the front) and this way there is no chance of rubbing when steering, and your handling will be less random, and smoother.

Here's a pic of mine...nitto 275 dr's on the back, nitto 235 555's on the front. The 275 fit easy as cake and I have no problems with em. They are however about 5-10 mm away from my Bassani tips (not using a spacer).

WERD!!

Ok ERNIE,
Im replying like you requested.

I have Sumitomos on the 8" stock rim. They fit on the rim, and you can notice that they are NOT a PERFECT fit, but there has been NO problem. From what I have read, the Nitto's run slightly smaller, so If the Sumo's fit then the Nitto's will be fine, plus the fact that all the others here agree.

GO FOR IT!

From that angle it does not look like the tires bulg much if at all. Do they? and did the tires affect the handleing on the car in a negative way?

Yeah they're 8". They don't buldge or look funny at all, noticed no adverse handling issues. I noticed no difference in handling from when I had the regular 255 555's on the rear, but then again I don't drive on the streets like it's a road course.

I have Tire Size Calculator where say

--------------------245/45/17---------255/45/17-----------275/40/17

Width-----------------9.6''---------------10.0''---------------10.8''
Side Wall Height-------4.3''----------------4.5''----------------4.3"
Overall Diameter-------25.7''--------------26.0''---------------25.7''

Right now I have 245/45/17 on front(I stay with 245s on front)
On back I have 255/45/17
