I found this on a classifieds site, Did Ford offer a Vinyl top on any of the 71-73 Mustang Sportroof models?

This car is listed as a 1972 Mach 1.

i've questioned this many times and the answer is always NO. there used to be a guy here in town that had 2 69's and both had vinyl tops and appeared to be factory. even Kevin Marti has said there weren't any, but nearly all of them i've seen are identical and they were all just like the 2 69's that used to be here in town. i think it must have either been an available option over the counter from Ford or there was only company that was making the trim pieces for all of these vinyl top cars. this is a never ending controversy, really.

The PO (original) had a vinyl top made for the 66 fastback I have now. When I got the car from her in 94 it was maroon with the black top. It was done very professional and had chrome trim bent all the way around. I took it off and painted the car back original wimbledon white.
