Anyone ever seen a conversion using 96-98 Explorer/Mountaineer parts? How hard would it be? This would give alot better performance with coils for each cylinder I assume
if you go with a stnd alone system like AEM or Megasquirt that will allow you to use a crank trigger its not hard at all. there is a whole forum on corral devoted to aftermarket tuning and this is covered quite a bit.
It can be done. This is an 87 but I have no details on it, just had the pics in my Mustang Engine file.
IIRC the explorers don't use individual coil packs. They use two like the 4.6 cars do. One for each bank.
