I'm planning to ditch the Mach "premium" sound system and redo the whole stereo. I just have a couple of Q's before I start buying my new set up. Has anyone installed the Q-Logic Q form kickpanels? If so, how easy was the install? I'm leaning towards these custom kickpanels so I can run component speakers. Can anyone chime in about how much of an improvement component is over 2 way or 3 way speakers up front (not cheap ass ones, but 2 or 3 way speakers priced around $100-200). Can anyone comment on the bass that the MTX T-form custom box w/ 10 inch sub puts out? And last but not least, any tips on how to get a 'stuck' cd out of the mach cd player? I've been listening to the same cd for almost a month now.
As for the cd if its a cd 6 in-dash, take out the head unit and there are four really small allen, tork, whatever you call em screws 2 top 2 bottom front comes off dont pull all the way off little wire and clip still connecting the two pieces. this gives you enough access where you can jimmy the cd's out of there without damaging them badly. disconnect the battery when you take out the head unit hook it back up turn on the accsesories and let the mach cycle through the cd slots and then the system should work until it decides to eat another cd. if its the single disc unit smash it with a hammer nah jus kiddin i dont know. hope this helps post when you get the install done tell us how it went, im getting tired of the stuck cd routine.
when my cd's have gotten stuck i unplug the negative terminal. two hours later reconnect and viola it works again! i dont kno why. strangest thing ive ever seen.
the CDs in my 2000 gt used to get stuck in there too. have u tried holding down the eject button?? i had to hold the eject for a bout 3 to 4 seconds every time i took a cd out.
As far as the kick panels, they do save time for mouting speakers, but they arent angles enough to give a sound stage.Depending on how much your going to spend, get some made or try it yourself.I personally dont care for components, they cost too much and wont tell the difference, i like to used 2,3, or 4 way coaxials, mainly Pioneer or Alpine type R series, ive had good luck with those. The MTX boxes sound good, but again, they are expensive, see what the difference is for buying the bosx and getting a custom built box.
