After a lot of last minute planning and effort, the ’06 Mustang Week Dragnight is headed to Darlington International Dragway! The Staff tried every way possible to keep the Dragnight at NMB Dragstrip. Rodney spent a great deal of time talking with county officials and the track’s management, but it didn’t work out. NMB Dragstrip just is not ready for our event. With that said, we will push forward and I feel very positive about the turn of events. Darlington Dragway is under new management since we last visited. The track has been resurfaced and all of the facilities have been improved. They have even added a playground for the kids, if they come along. We will meet at the Hooters at Colonial Mall (intersection of US 17 and SC 22), from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. We will pull out sometime between 3:15pm and 3:30pm and cruise to Darlington Dragway. The track will be open from 5:00pm until 11:00pm. Dragstrip management is going to open just for us, so only Mustangs and SVT vehicles can race. Format will be test-n-tune. Cost is $10 to get in and $10 to race. We hope all those originally planning to attend Dragnight will cruise with us and enjoy having a really good facility all to ourselves! All scheduled vendors and sponsors will be there as well. We know it is a bit of a drive, but it will be a good time for those who love to bang gears and remember… getting there is half the fun! I will post a thread with updated cruise directions tomorrow.
