Dyno Tuning

    do you need a hand held tuner to dyno tune?

    You don't need a hand held tuner, but you will need a flasher or a chip of some sort. The shop that does your tune should have some product line available. Most popular choice with our customers now is the X-Cal 2, which is a hand held tuner in some peoples opinions. It can flash your car and store several tunes, as well as having data logging capablities.

    But in order to have the team running the Dyno "tune" the car or dial the A/F in, a tuner will be necessary. If it is a module like the Jet, then it cannot be modified. If it is a Predator or SCT then you will have to own one since it mates with the car and only that car. In order to use it again on a different car, the stock tune needs to be reloaded on the car and the system unlocked.
