Edelbrock heads?

How big of an issue are the soft spring seats in Edelbrock heads, for example see this article at fordmuscle.
Here's what I can see of mine:

So I'm wondering if I need to pull the heads solely for the purpose of replacing the spring seats. These have been on for ~30,000mi/12years approx and pampered. I'm inclined to leave them as is because I don't lean on it that hard, they've been OK for this long all ready, and screwing with them could create some new problem.
So how big of a problem are these seats?

I would honestly say it's a non-issue, since they've been selling heads like that for YEARS and I've never heard a single thing about it. You could always have them machined for spring cups if you felt at all worried about it, but it's likely a non-issue.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you're running a huge cam. And over the past 30,000 miles the aluminum would have compressed any that it was going to with your given springs and cam.
