Hey Guy's, I have a 2003 svt cobra. It has a kenny bell upgrade charger running 15 lbs of boost. The motor has every possible bolt on, from Pulley's to complete exhaust. The car dyno'd at 529 rwh, and I'm interested in adding a nitrous kit. I've spoken to a few ppl and was told the 150 hp shot would be plenty. I'm having a hard time finding a proper engine management system that has been tried and tested. Also, I see a ton of mass air upgrades out there but only for the 2 valves. Are there any available for the SVT's? Any recommendations guy's? Thanks Phil.
I would recommend SCT tuning. Alternative Auto in Mt. Clemens here uses those chips and he tunes a lot of Mustangs and Cobras with both light and heavily modified modifications. He tunes them to make great power and have great reliability. My car has been running strong for 2 years now, and I eventually want to modify it more to get 480-500RWHP. I know if he tunes it it will be safe.
Gazman, the stock ECU as already stated will be just fine but....If you are still using the stock MAF & injectors with your KB you will need to make some serious changes before you go anywhere near a 150 shot!!! There are a couple different aftermarket MAF's available for the 03/04 Cobra. Plus you are going to need at least a set of 60lb injectors if you go big with a 150 shot! Keep in mind that NO2 on a supercharged car is not the same as on a N/A car. Even a small shot makes very large gains because of the drop in IAT2 temps it creates. You need to talk to the pro's about your intended upgrades and I suggest you create an account and post your questions in the Terminator section over at: http://www.modularfords.com/forums/ That's where the "Top" 03/04 tuners hang out and they will have all the detailed information you require to get this little upgrade done, and done right. U.M.
