Could have killed the cylinder walls, or damaged the block. If it wasnt bad then you will still need to bore the block over to clean it up, meaning at least new pistons aswell.

I did rebuild my own and it was pretty easy. But if you don't have the mechanical ability don't bother. I ended up saving about $1800.
