I'm having trouble identifying a noise, only from a complete stop when releasing the clutch in first, there is a creaking sound similar to a ratchet when your turning it the opposite way(click click click etc.).
It's only for a short time and then it stops. I have checked all that haynes suggests visualy, and I'm wondering if it could be the universal joints:shrug: .
It sounds as if its coming from under my feet.

I thank :SNSign: for all responses!:hail2:

Just replaced Clutch, flyheel, and T.O.B., I thought that a worn aout wheel bearing would come more from the rear rather than directly under the drivers seat?

More help please:nice:

Sorry Tom, it ony happens from 0-3 mph, it does not increase w/ speed.

Did it just start doing it after you replaced the clutch, or was it doing it prior?

It sounds to me like it may be the u-joints. One way to check is to hold the slipyoke that goes into the rear of the trans with one arm, and try to rotate the driveshaft with your other arm. If there is any play, the u-joints need to be replaced.

Also, there is wheel bearings in the front as well. If you didn't have them your car wouldn't roll that easy :p.
