Alright im having a **** of a ****ig time getting the side exhaust all worked out so here are some pictures to how the kit should look and how im able to get it on with the most ground clearance Original setup How it fits best So my question is what do you guys thinks looks best? i can get the kit to fit the proper way but its gonna need some serious fabbing, pros i get to keep the mufflers, cons is i lose 2" of ground clearance
if it were me i would do it where you get the most clearence my flows on my old 90 were angled with a two inch drop couldnt even pull in my mother in laws drive way i hated that always hear scraping i vote for doing it with the most clearence
side exhaust looks cool, I like it closer to the car on the second pic. if you drive it alot you'll get sick of the fumes with your window down in traffic.
traffic? dude i can barely drive this thing around town with how low it is, the 350 and the termi im getting will share DD duties, this will be a track monster, i agree it will be close enough to the car as possible, do you like the swept forward look or swept back one?
swept back, i have 3 inches from my X pipe it hits everything but after you scrape it onece your like WTF is it going to matter after that
seriously? swept forward will be the fail... while driving it would push air back into the exhaust... i doubt you would notice much performance loss... but why would you want your exhaust pointed any more forward? in summary... angled to the rear of the car ftw.
i dont want it angled forward i want it angled back but its seriously a mofo trying to the these ****ers to fit with the subframes and having a car thats 3" from the ground
before you do anything too crazy to make it fit, test drive it. i had spintech side exhaust on my fox when it very first came available. i unbolted my bolt-in subframes and drove it for 10 minutes. i got on it once and took it off the car. i hated the sound. just don't invest too much into it until your sure you want it. just my .02
i have 2 buddies that have the same side exhaust, somehow they got them to fit with subframes, and naturally they arent answering their phones so i cant have them come over so i can see how they did it
I like set up #1, pointing towards the rear...I wouldn't have it sticking out to far though. I would trim the tip flush with the sides of the car, but it's a track mule so asthetics shouldn't be the priority, tearing up bowties leaving the chicane are!!! Don't worry about clearance too much, as long as you're not spraying sparks down the track, run that horse! Good luck Crane!
