i agree with this post. the moderators do an excellent job on this forum maintaining the balancing act of keeping things inline according to the rules of the forum, and still providing a place where us hard heads can argue in good fun, while dispensing information others need to build and maintain their cars. but as stated, the moderators cant be the ones to fill in holes dug by members, rebuild fences, mend relationships, etc. it is up to the forum members to follow the spirit of the rules and avoid causing problems for themselves and others. there are, and have been, many people come here with good information, and the ones that stay are the ones that treat everyone with respect, and have fun at the same times, and are willing to admit that they dont know everything. remember soaring1 that you are just one of what, 100,000 members, or something like that, and you need to get along, or like any other large group of people, you will be and outcast of your own volition, as people will not take you seriously.
Well I have to hand it to you guys, you handled him better than we did over at another Mustang site. Consider yourselves lucky Soaring was never a mod like he was at our site.

I don't want to clutter up the FAQ, but I'd like to thank the moderation staff for their response to this "situation" over the past two or so weeks. I'd also like to apologize for complicating the matter. You guys have a difficult and often thankless job that goes unseen by most users. Thank you.
8.8 rear end I am rather new here , and don't have all the information yet, but I will share what I know thus far. I have a 1964 comet hardtop (Mercury's version of a Falcon) while it looks different, suspension, drivetrain, etc is almost identical to the same year mustangs. While removing a 98 Explorer motor at a local yard... I took a look at the rear end. 8.8 rearend with 3.73 posi stock......disc brakes, with E-brake, factory "ladder" bars, pan-hard shock and even a decent sway bar set-up. This rear end is 3" wider than my comet rear end , ( I believe the comet rear is 3/4" to 1" wider than a stang) For me this is perfect as I plan to run late model rims. I am awaiting new springs and a spring relocation kit before I try the install..... I will take pics and if anyone is interested, I can share the info I learn as this might be a decent and inexpensive swap for you stang guys..... I pulled the rear end myself (to avoid damage) rotor to rotor with e brake cables for $125....... Andy
Fantastic information! How about a section for feedback concerning real world experience with different products. Ie: flaming river vs total controll vs rss, Wilwood vs Baer, Classic Auto AIr vs Vintage....... You get the idea. :stirpot:

can anyone give me an idea of a wheel/tire combo for 67 fastback,1 inch lowered,(front&back),using 15inch wheels? i could use backspacing info and tire size info for 60 & 70 series tires. im new at this computer stuff,so please bear with me. thanks for any info
Wow... That was truely interesting lol. I guess there really is one in every bunch. Ok, I am new here so I do not know what that was about and to be honest don't care! I would also like to say thank you to everyone on here for alot of great information. I reacently purchased a 66 mustang with an i6... all original with 63000 miles on it that has been sitting for the past thirty years covered in a garage. Not sure if this is the right place for all that so I will get right to the point. How about horsepower vs. unibody..... I am making the i6 to v8 conversion and there is a ton of options as far as crate motors... I would like to keep it as stock as I can.... so no welding will be done... How much horse power can a 66 mustang unibody take!!!
