I was going to say something about that also. No tails on Auto X car is even better.
The daily driver no mods thing is hard to do. Very cool car though. Paul we may need to trade user names. I've got a yellow car and you got a red one.

I'm getting ready for my second mod to my car, JLT Intake / SCT Tuner with custom tune. The first one was getting a smaller antenna in place of the cloud touching satellite sized stock one. Why do they even put antenna's on cars these days?

Here is a pic of it.[IMG]

Hey buddy, since you don't use the yellow one anymore, can I borrow her one of these weekends?

hehe, j/k. looks like fun, man. there's a local Porsche club that hosts monthly auto-x events -- want to head out there sometime soon. looks like a lot of fun!

If you're looking for a basic understanding of autox, try this link. I've been doing it for about 5 years and really enjoy pushing the car to find its (actually my) handling limits.

Awesome, Paul. Looks like it was a good time. That car is superb. I would love to get into autocross if I EVER get my crap running. I suppose I could autocross my Bronco . . . it would be kind of fun to see how many turns I could take before rolling it. God I hate that thing.

The link provided above is very useful. If you want to try it I also suggest that you look up the rule book and start reading as there are a ton of rules when it pertains to modifications. I started out wanting to run in FS which is the stock class that our mustangs fall into. I planned to put on a set of wheels and tires, possibly shocks and struts, and go autox'ing. That changed when I had a plugged cat. I installed an offroad X pipe and that put me into the street prepared category; mustang falls into the ESP. Then I installed a panhard bar, torque arm, and subframe connectors and that put me into the competition prepared category; the mustang falls into CP. CP cars generally are full on, tube chassis race cars so to say I'm uncompetitive is an understatement. I do OK locally but if a real CP car ever shows up I'd have my ass handed to me. I could also run in the Street Mod (SM) class, but that is also where AWD cars like the WRX, EVo, etc play as well. They can be lighter, equal if not more powerful, and frankly they handle better than our cars so its not a good place to play either.

John- what is the update on your car?

This thread is OLD. Here's a video from near the end of the season:

Thanks! Honestly, IMO drag racing pales in comparison to the fun factor offered by autocrossing. If you want to try something try autocrossing, you won't be disappointed. :nice:
