ok so i have $250 to do my first mod to the new cobra...what comes first, performance or looks, cuz i could either do tint all around so that my car looks different than all the other stangs at my school, or get an mgw short throw shifter to make the driving experience better. and i cant decide which to do first.

I would do gears first personally. 3.73's if you plan to do a power adder in the future or 4.10's if you stay N/A. Otherwise I would probably do the shifter first.

between tint and shifter, deffinetly go with the shifter. If you can afford gears, i would get those first, they'll make a huge difference.

Gears and all the stuff required for them is more than 250. My first mod was exhaust but the shifter wasn't far behind.

The ford dealership quoted me like $800 for gears and install. You need gears, a speed calibrator or tune, possibly a rear end rebuilt kit. Some people get them done for cheap but I don't have $800 laying around.

Change the midpipe to an offroad style pipe if you dont have emissions that you need to pass. That or get a throttle body/plenum combo, or go with the shifter.

Thats my take on it, im still trying to decide on what to do myself. If it doesnt go to matenence than its a toss up between the ones above. I wouldnt worry about tint right now.
