Okay. So I drive to my friendly Ford Dealer saturday to get an adjustable clutch cable. MyBad70 and another friend said they paid $35 for theirs just a couple weeks ago. So I get in there and the dude says, "$57 tax & all." I'm like, "I thought they were $35?"... he says "They went up." So I hand the guy my debit card and say okay and didn't think anything about it... until MyBad70 started laughing at me last night on the phone He brought up a good point. He said that Saturday was the last day of the month, and a Saturday at that- meaning last day for commission additions. Grrrrrr... So I call back up there today and say "How much for a clutch cable on a 92 Mustang" (I said 92 to throw them off). Dude says "none in stock but I can order you one for $155.00" I said just the cable, not the quadrant too- and he said "Right". So how do you guys want me to act tomorrow afternoon when I take the cable back?
i used to work there. so i have no doubt we can kidnap them all. beat the hell out of them and duct tape them to a tree in the middle of nowhere and cover them in honey. theyre all a buncha pansys..........lets do it, im free after 5
on the phone with them now. take it back and talk to James. 37.95 out the door. lol they charged u retail price hahaha
Buy this instead. The OEM non-adjustable clutch cable. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=507 I think Summit Racing sells it for even less.
I am a parts guy and i have the same issue when i call other dealerships for parts. as long as they charge at LEAST what it cost them to get the part and put you under a wholesale account, then they are fine... i personally never mark stuff up over the 40% that they ask. (actually, thats what the owner wants me to mark it up to) BUT i have also figured out a way to help out people i know without screwing myself in the process... Tell them to have you setup as a wholesale customer. that way they can give you a discount and you wont have to worry about getting charged retail again.
Good idea but he already drew first blood... *tears strip of cloth off of shirt and ties around his head* Too bad for purple shirt day, I kinda look like an idiot now
Ramwhore? no.. thats what i did this weekend... man, i hope the wife never finds out... JUST KIDDING HONEY!!!!
our ford dealership is one of the largest in the south. they supply the northern half of the state with service crown vics. its all who you know in parts as to what price u pay. since i worked there and know all those jackass's, i get everything wholesale still...and most times 10% over cost.
well I work in the parts department at a Ford dealership and I hear tons of horror stories like this(and other) from my customers and it's not just us, it's done all over. also (and not to defend them) we get new price tape every 1/4 which also ended last saturday and maybe someone loaded the price tape ahead of time so's not to get in a bind on monday when they open back up.
Our Ford dealer guy is a friend with a fox vert... We seem to always have good encounters with salesmen and parts guys so long as they are also Ford or Mustang guys!
he'd bust out with........... Where have all good men gone And where are all the gods? Where’s the street-wise Hercules To fight the rising odds? Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night He’s gotta be strong And he’s gotta be fast And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light He’s gotta be sure And it’s gotta be soon And he’s gotta be larger than life (larger than life...) Somewhere after midnight In my wildest fantasy Somewhere just beyond my reach There’s someone reaching back for me Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night He’s gotta be strong And he’s gotta be fast And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light He’s gotta be sure And it’s gotta be soon And he’s gotta be larger than life I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night Up where the mountains meet the heavens above Out where the lightning splits the sea I would swear that there is someone somewhere Watching me Through the wind and the chill and the rain And the storm and the flood I can feel his approach Like a fire in my blood I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night He’s gotta be strong And he’s gotta be fast And he’s gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the morning light He’s gotta be sure And it’s gotta be soon And he’s gotta be larger than life (Repeat 1x) I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero ‘til the end of the night
