iam looking into a forged shortblock in the neer future and was hoping to get some opinions and experiences on variouse companys. I have looked at mhps 800hp SB, mmrs 800hp SB, foxlakes 700hp SB, and livernois 1000hp shortblock. I dont intend to make more then 600 rwhp but i want some kind of safey margin because i really dont like pushing things to the absolute limits. any info on the 4 mentioned manufactures would be greatly appreciated and feel free to provide links to other threads that sight bad experiences. thanks.

and no the frpp aluminator isnt a option for various reasons.

I've never heard bad things about mph or foxlake s/b's. Do it right the first time and have peace of mind. A couple hundred dollars more now is better than buying another s/b and putting it in if you get a cheap one that ends up breaking.

:stupid: I also have nothing but good things about fox lake, and MMR. I'm with ya on not wanting to push the limits of the sb. I think both have an excellent reputation so you can't go wrong with either. But as you know probably, your combo will be only as good as the tune you give it.
