I know Will just had a thread like this where he wanted to get his hood painted ..... but I didn't want to intrude & take away from his thread.

My front bumper (GT) has millions of pits in it & looks like someone shot it with a shotgun using rat shot. They're not visible until you're close up, but it still pisses me off.

1.) I'm considering a Cobra bumper that a local guy is selling right now. It's practically brand new. It comes with brand new fog lights & brackets. How much does this usually go for?

2.) How much does it cost (average) to get a good paint job on a front bumper? I know with different colors & shops that it will vary .... but I'm talking "average" here.

Looks like you got your SN, too! I like it.

Thanks. BTW, this is an OEM factory urethane bumper .... my research has shown that they go for a little more.

hehe, yeah, just noticed the sn change right now--thanks for the suggestion!

if you wanna save some cash, you'd probably be better off finding an on-the-side, reputable painter. for ex, our buddy that painted my car painted nacho's hood for $40--i gave him some of my paint and clear. gotta look out for a deal like that.

    Thanks man! I'd appreciate that.

And thanks for all the help guys. I think I'm gonna use a guy that works as a service manager at the local Ford dealership. He paints on the side.

It's a deal! How much will you charge?

Haha ... on a serious note .... I've been fixing the front end of my Ranger. Since I'm not as picky with it as I am my car, I just ordered some perfect matching paint (rattle cans) from a paint company and sprayed it myself. I sprayed the grille, header panel, and trim pieces. They look like stock painted pieces. I still have the bumper & valance to do ... but it's turning out nicely. You can actually do some nice paint work with rattle cans, but I still wouldn't do this to my car.

Just checked on the price. $480 for just the bumper :owned: Anyhow, the part number is f4zz-17d957-b if you go to the dealer, which you probably won't lol. Thats a crazy price.

I've used that factory matching paint before, and it does do a really good job like you said :nice:

Good luck finding a good place that doesnt charge a million dollars to paint it

    See ya, Will

Just to respray my front bumper I've been quoted anywhere from $300-600. Pricing depends heavily on quality and the person doing it. Just for the lip alone I was quoted $150 to paint it.

    Thanks a bunch Will!

Dang Nik, you're scaring me. That is rediculous $$$.

Well, I just went & picked up the bumper. It IS brand new.

This is what all I got for $475.

Brand new Cobra bumper ($480 alone).
Brand new Blue Oval smoked headlights & corners ($210 alone).
    Cobra header panel.
Brand new Cobra fog lights & brackets.

Now, I just need to get that guy to paint for me.
