It's a stock 99-04 GT knob. You can get them used on ebay for like $10 so $13 for a brand new one is pretty good. I have like 5 of them :)

You cna't dye it, but i beleive Ford Racing does make a black version of the knob that came on 96-98 Cobras.

its a FRPP knob, you just cant see the brushed aluminum insert. its styled after the 99-04 knobs. The brushed aluminum really has a nice touch to the interior. Now I think i want billet lock pins, and maybe door handles

The gray dye was wearing off my stock leather knob in a few spots. I was going to buy a new one, but decided to paint it black while painting some other interior pieces. I figured I had nothing to lose. If it didn't turn out I'd just get a new one. I lightly scuffed the knob with fine sandpaper, wiped it with alcohol, and sprayed several light coats from all directions. I used Duplicolor flat interior paint, and was shocked at how well it turned out. I have been using it for about 3 months now, and it shows no wear. You can't tell it is painted.

    Ah, i didn't see that.

$13 is a damn good price. I just paid about $50 for mine. Much nicer leather than the stock GT knob too.

Perhaps a new shifter boot will help it blend in better. I've been trying to find an 03/04 cobra shoft boot as it's real leather and the correct d/ grey color. You could also make a boot at www.redlingoods.com

Looks like a 5SPD version of the 03/04 cobra shifter...very nice! Sure does dress up the interior!
