Fuel tank sump questions

Doing a fuel system in my car and was planning t run a A1000 and intank pickup but I ended up hearing that it wasent the best combo to run. Don't really want to have a sump hanging off the back of my tank so I found the glenns performance sleeper sump tank:
Mustang Sleeper Fuel Tank Glenn's Performance

Seems to be extactly what I would like to run. My tank is in perfect condition and would like to possibly copy the glenn's tank. Anyone here done anything similar to this? Sounds like I would basicly run a 3/4" tube to the stock sump area and weld that to a fitting on the back side of the tank. Does this sound correct?

I'm only running a carb, but I actually gutted my factory fuel pump and turned that into my pickup. Looks like stock, but no fuel pressure from the tank, next I gotta buy my external electric fuel pump.
