Hey guys I just bought a 2008 Mustang GT, anyway it has the base GT gauges that don't have the battery gauge and oil pressure gauge. I really want those 2 gauges and the my color thing would be really cool, I talked to my dealer about installing them and it would cost $800 for the gauge cluster and install. Has anyone ever done this? I don't want to take it in and end spending a lot more then I have planned. Originally I wanted my car to have these gauges but the dealer needed another 6 weeks to get the car I ordered and told me they could find one like it at another dealer. Well they had this one on the lot that came with some nice aftermarket wheels and they installed the suspension off a GT500. It is loaded with everything else. Thanks for any help, sorry for the long post.
Why not just go with an aftermarket setup? It would be far less costly to go with some Autometer gauges and the pod(s) of your choice.
This is true. In my 2001, I installed the Roush Indiglo (Stage 3) cluster. I then painted the bulbs in my Autometer gauges to match the color of the cluster when illuminated. I used Phantom series gauges, so day or night they are exactly the same color as the cluster. BTW, love that avatar! LOL!
hey cory, the mycolor thing is only a ford thing. if you want it, you gotta pay the $800. i tried doing the same you did but gave up
actualy there was a thread not to long ago on here, If you order the parts it come to 600 and change and install is around 75$ ......... But Im with you on the gauges I just ordered the 3 piece gauge cluster in the middle of your dash and 3 cobalt series gauges ..Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure and trans temp..... I think those will serve me fine since shes an auto and not FI yet............
I think that I'm going to go with the gauges from Ford even though its more expensive, I want my color and I really like the way the factory gauges look. I really do like this car so much more over the 01 I had though. Thanks guys for all the help.
Ahhhh....yes it does. And that's a good point. Thanks! I have to admit that I sorta gapped out while reading the OP's second paragraph. LOL!
Yeah thats would be a good point about the springs. I'm not sure if they did or didn't. The car handles good and feels fine, it sits level to. How can I tell?
No they are not cheap. But if your going to spend $800. I say you just add the gauges you need, its not much more.
