Alright so i have been reading about gears lately and i have decided that this would probably be the best thing to add next, now i have been told many different things across a variety of fourms, car clubs, and car shows. A local buddy suggests 3.73 gears would be optimal, while you guys here on stangnet favor 4.10's or even 4.30's. Here is what the car is used for. simply 0-60 acceloration around town. hardly EVER on the freeway. and so i am kinda worried about noise issues with raising the rpms that much higher but then again i would just like the advice you guys could offer for a set of 4.10 gears, 4.30 gears or what. i think 3.73 will just be a waste of money. i want it to be fast, but i dont plan on racing it anytime soon. thanks guys, (and Jenn)

4.10's all the way man. Don't let anyone talk you out of it. @80mph you will be revving around 2700-2750. Ford racing gears only!

I 2nd 4.10s...I put them in and man what a differance! I had 3.73's in my last stang and while 4.10's are too steep for some cars, they are perfect for our cars. A local Mustang shop backed that idea and installed them. Definatley go with Ford Racing parts so you don't get any noise.

if your not gonna be using the car on the highway ever, i cant see why you wouldnt do some 4.10s. also, never use anything other then ford racing gears. when installed correctly they make no noise at all. the ford gears are a quality gear. in most cases they are cheaper then gears from other manufacturers.

DONT FEAR THE GEAR!! if you never drive it on the interstate, go all out and get the 4.30s or 4.56s!! you wont get much traction, but it will be fun as heck!!

4.10s or 4.30s 3.73s aren't going to make that much of a difference(stock is 3.55s). I have 4.10s i wish that I had installed the 4.30s instead but I love them. Make sure that you get a good shop to install them, because you shouldn't try installation unless you know what you are doing.
