    Hello all,

I was wondering if you all could recomend some decent tires that will have some long tread life. It is my daily driver, and I do not track my car. I am a spirited driver some times, so I would like them to hook up pretty good. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them either. THank you all for your input in advance. I need 295/35/18 and 265/35/18.

    Thanks,
    Dale in San Antonio

    Marcus,

Why did you go with 255s in the front?

    Thanx,
    Dale

    Good pick Marcus!!

KDW's are the next tires to go on the mine.
I like the KDW2's but they don't come in the right size 16's for the Fox!

Because the 265's have just a little bit too much sidewall in the KD for my taste. I like a tiny little sidewall on the front wheel. Here is my S351 with 255/35/18's KDW2's on the front and 295/35/18's KD's on the rear. In my opinion it's the perfect combo for the 9 and rear 10" wheels.

I like the Mich Pilot Sport PS2 tire. Great ride, wear, and low noise.

BFG KDW II's - I manage to get around 15K out of those tires regardless of what car they're on and I tend to be on the gas often.

Wow, that is quite the coincidence, Marcus, as I have that exact same combo on my '98 Cobra Speedster...

Those guys are all showing you expensive tires.

Look at some Kumhos Ecsta Supra 712s (not 711). "Z" rated, long life, very cheap, and respectable for the price and the rating. No more than $100 per tire.

And I can tell you that they are worth the money. Right now I have (GoodYear F1) DS-G3s retailing at $270 a tire. These (Kumhos) are very much worth $99 a tire. Trust me.

Even though the Kumhos are Z rated the 18" tire has too much sidewall flex for me. That goes for the Toyo Proxes also. The wear is good with those tires but they lack in other areas and the Kumhos are a bit noisy.

If you want to play you have to pay.:D
