i know lots of guys don't care what their engine looks like, but i personally do. nobody sees it but me, but i like mine to look clean. i'd hit those with some paint. it'd be so easy to make them look better now, but once they're on, then it's tough.
****, i'd take a hairdryer to them if they were mine, and there wasn't any other options.... i'm sure that it would work fine. don't be lazy now, because i bet you'll regret it later.

High heat paint will burn right off. I had the same headers mac hts coated. i hit them with the 1200 degree paint and the smoked the paint off. Have them ceramic coated you have all winter.

really nice score on the headers :nice: !! could you explain how you plan on 270 rwhp w/o touching the cam or injectors I'm assuming you have a stock cam right? I'm just curious is all.

    ported gt40p heads.
milled .030 this will raise compression to around 10:1
    1.7 RR
    TFS street heat intake
    65mm TB
    mac header
    mac pro chamber
    flows
    3.73 posi

then after i get that combo together and all installed and dynoed im hoping to see 270 but from what i find online a combo like that is usually good for around 255-260.

then is like to swap to mass air and bump up to 24 lb injectors (even though there not really needed just yet ) and then a 75mm mass air.

then dyno again and tune, thats where im hoping i can get the 270rwhp...if not though oh well...after i swap to mass air then i can start thinking about a cam :) something daily driver friendly..

im not sure if i will do this to my vert though. after the vert is finished im thinking i may try and get a hatchback 90-93 or an 86 GT

screw paint and ceramic coating. They will both look like crap in a while. Go with some header wrap.

a nice set of forged pistons will give you a nice bump in compression and unless you are planning on keeping the convertible I wouldnt bother with engine mods. paint the sucker and flip it.
If you are really wanting a set of gt40 heads I would go with the X heads. they are lighter and flow a helluva lot more out of the box. a friend of mine got some for x-mas and they are NICE! with some 1.6rrs and the TFS street intake you should be nosing in on that 270 mark

it all depends, after i get it painted and finish the interior and get it all cleaned up im listing it for sale/trade..

id really like to get what ive always wanted 90-93 LX 5.0 5 speed

preferable a 91 if i can find someone interested in trading for it then i would, i liek the vert and all but id love a hatchback more so!

one thing is since im not sure if im keeping the vert im not sure if i should bother putting the rear end i have in spring in it just yet...just put the headers on and give it at that...

do you think fresh paint (93 cobra teal metallic) a full exhaust would be a good selling point or do you think having 3.73's already in it would help? or maybe include the rear end with the car for a little extra?

im just thinking out loud here but do you think 4,500 is to much to ask for after i finish the stang?

ive got an easy 3k plus in it now.

    it would have a nice

    black interior
    93 cobra teal metallic paint
    new black top installed
    pony wheels
    full exhaust

and be rust free when i sold it?

it has like 93,4xx miles on it right now too

thinking me asking 4,500 after its all said and done would be too much? in my area nice foxbodys are petty scarce too!

im just thinking out loud here, (NOT A FOR SALE THREAD)

    just talk :)

The 306 in my vert was 10:1 I had probe flat top forged pistons the block was zero decked and the afr 165 heads we milled enough to make it right at 10:1

I always ran 93 octane but it ran just fine and it was a dd.

why wait to sell it, a nice fox will sell whether it's in primer or paint. I wouldnt bother sinking time/money into it with paint or anything else. put a F/S sign in the window and start shopping for a new car.

ya but i think the 600 dollar investment on my part for nice paint because this would fix the few body rust spots it has and fresh paint, id do it all myself and it will only take me im thinking 4 days...working 8 hours a day...other then the 2 rust spots i gotta cut out and weld new in there are just a few small dents that need popped out and a little bondo then an epoxy primer and then paint, clear.....

im gonna paint it before i do anything else...id just rather have a hatch..

it would take about a month because i would do the work back in piqua where we have a bigger garage and its set up for painting cars....and i would only have access to it on Sundays because of school/work.
