Well, finally got my car tuned today at HP Performance in Jacksonville FL. My car put down 423 HP and 424 ft lb of torque at 13 psi!! I can't believe this thing is making that kind of power. I told him to dial it down a little so the motor would live and it's making 380 now. All I can say is this Vortech is a pretty nice piece of machinery! I'll post the dyno sheet as soon as I get to a scanner!
3 more pounds of boost and an intake and he dang near whooped me by 100 horsies. Makes me wish I got a Performer RPM before my dyno...
I couldn't believe it! It kept putting down like 215-265 and he couldn't figure it out.... then I told him there was a BTM installed.. he's like.. CRAP!!! take it off!... so I removed it and next run...423 to the wheels...
yeah, it pulls timing in relation to boost... so it was taking out insane amounts of timing on top of what was programmed to be taken out. But it was also pulling timing when the program wanted MORE timing. It just wasn't fitting in with the tune he was after... He said I'll never need it again so that's good.
You sure you have stock heads? Cause I'm at 441HP with a built motor, all smog and heads etc. on a VERY safe tune... Am I missing something? SAE corrected readings???
Yup, SAE corrected.. the sheet says: Smoothing: 5 .. whatever that means. I was in disbelief also, but he assured me his dyno is dead accurate. He said I have myself an 11 second car now. I wanna take it out to the track and see what it does.. If my heads aren't stock, their def. iron heads and I didn't install them cause the car came with the long block. It's likely something was done to it like heads, port work on stockers or a stroker kit because in bone stock trim, save for a CAI and Flowmasters it dynoed 211 to the wheels! Most cars like ours only get 170-180 in stock trim.
even if the heads are ported by some chance, thats still damn good power. I would say maybe they could be gt40s but it woulda def. made more than 211 w/o boost. either way thats awesome, wish i had a blower haha
Yeah tony's real good at tuning too hes the one who does joes ford gt and most of the 03 04 cobras in jax and north florida.
if i knew I could make that much power out of a supercharger...i would have left my car three colors right now instead of getting a paint job...i think i have a new money fund starting...since I will already have the nitrous in the car a nice 25 shot on top of the supercharger would be sick.
not too shabby! those numbers are almost exactly what i had with my ported iron gt-40's the first time my car got tuned.... Feels good doesnt it?
