Why next to my xp8, does it not list v8 awd like the others? Also it says 13 brakes instead of 13' FRbrakes like the others.
And i have chrome wheels that aren't mentioned, and are on the window sticker.

And why are some explorers listed as 4x2's, wouldn't that mean that you could shift from 2wd to 4wd? There was never an option for a 5 liter explorer that was anything other than 2wd or awd from ford.

Oh, and before you mention the supercharger on mine, it was dealer installed afterwards, i think they weren't doing the powerdynes anymore, that's why i have an eaton.

    Mine is xp8 2000 #30

liz's numbers and the books numbers are pretty far off, not sure what to believe.

    Why is it a 4x2? 4 doors 2wd?

    Joe,

It's always been like that. I would believe Liz's nums over the books though. Also, back in the day, cars and trucks would leave slightly different than the build sheet. Believe your window sticker first. Liz never stood there with a clipboard at the back door as they rolled out even though someone should have:)

For the same reason my car 1985-49 isn't noted the be a t-top car or a 1984 ground effects equiped car according to Saleen. I have the Ford 999 history report to prove it was ordered by Universal Ford in Richmond Virginia with t-tops, and the Fox Saleen historian has looked at my car in detal and confirmed that 1985-49 was orginally built with fiberglass airdam and still retains the "bigwing" rear spoiler. The original owner even confirmed replacing the airdam with the 1986 urethane unit after hitting a curb and breaking the original.

Another post is correct no one actually stood and confirmed the options as the went out the back door..so, we should expect options to be left out of the Saleen build sheets and other assorted paperwork. It's just another cool thing about owning a limited production - hand built automobile.

Problem is that liz has been wrong more times than right when it has come to the xp8.

When i was buying my truck, she insisted it didn't even exist. She said there was no such thing as an xp6 (which is just an xp8 screw up), until i sent her a bunch of photos. Said there was no 2wd's.
