Hi all, I converted the nose of my GT with the GT500 and thought I would share the instructions with you all. It came out well, and I managed to do it myself with the only help being removing the hood. Its pretty straight forward, and some of your parts are reusable. You v6 guys that might consider the mod, may need additional support brackets. I included links to sites where I bought most of the OEM take-offs to complete the job. Happy Modding! pdf available on my blog GT500 Conversion
Saw your blog. Im also in NJ, cherry hill area. Ive always wanted to do this to my 10' GT. Need some major help though. Ive been looking around and it seems to me that OEM gt500 parts dont fit GT's, how did you do it? And where did you get all the necessary parts?
Hi Matt. The issue is the hood and nose. You need the hood, nose and radiator supports and covers to make the conversion. Trust me, it fits. Even the rear valance and cat back exhaust bolted right up.
All of the parts were found on various gt500 for sale areas as those guys are upgrading themselves. That combined with Craig's and eBay. The wheels were difficult to find for a decent price but after I sold the hood, nose, and wheels from my gt it was not so bad.
