I "think" I want to install the axle back M-5230-GTA mufflers. I've read a zillion exhaust threads, listened to many exhaust clips, etc. I have no exhaust mods now - bone stock. I'd like to hear some subjective assessments from those who have installed only the GTA mufflers (no H or X pipes, etc.). Were they worth the $? Do you like them? Are they much louder? Do you like the new tone? I want a little louder without waking up the neighborhood (use to have a FFR Cobra replica with a built 302 and 4-tube headers, no mufflers, etc. that did!), and no, repeat, no drone. Any advice appreciated!! :flag:

I have GTA's on my 07 GT/CS and could not be happier. They provide a deep throaty tone with a slightly louder overall volume. They have ZERO drone and yet they do talk to ya when you're really on the loud pedal. Yes they are worth the money to me. They are the same axle-backs that come on the Shelby GT and are certified to meet sound regulations.

Anyone know why they are more expensive now then when they first came out? I remember seeing them for $299 and now it seems they are $499.

I noticed that also. Don't know. Of course there are always used or take offs from Shelby GTs, just not many of them avail. I've listened to so many exhaust clips I'm rummy. However, I think these are what I'm going after. Appreciate the input from you all, great forum!! :nice:

I noticed that as well. I can only guess that they're popular and therefore the price increase. I paid $299.00 for mine and noticed that they're now priced at $499.00 through the same vendor.

I can only give you my experience. I ordered the FRPP CAI from them and received it quickly and in excellent condition. I would order from them again.

    Here's another decent price http://tinyurl.com/dbc23y

    My 2 cents..

Ordered the GTA exhaust from them (off ebay) 2 weeks ago. One of the tips was damaged and they took it back. I had to pay for the shipping which wasn't cool..but whatever. Customer service was not a strong point..but they did replace the damaged goods.

FYI..exhaust sounds great IMO. I can only compare them to my stock exaust on the 08 GT and the flowmaster 40s I had on my 01 GT.
-Deeper and throatier than my stock 08..not too much though..I think it just about right.
-The 40s on my 01 were waaay louder than these and were great except for that drone (ugh)

The #1 reason I went for this was to avoid drone. Mission accomplished!

    The tips look sweet too.

Could you have put in a claim with UPS or whoever the shipper was?

It's possible..I think the shipper has to do this though and for $24 I decided it wasn't worth the hassel. I don't think UPS was the issue..blueoval could have done a little better with the packaging. The replacement was packaged properly.

Lennyvb, thanks. I found them at the site you had listed and ordered them only to called within a couple of minutes and told they had a price increase from $356 to $475:eek:, so I cancelled. Damn these things are expensive. Anyway, thanks for the heads up. Guess I'll keep looking...

just find the GT500 mufflers off of a car that someone is selling.Thats what I did and it only cost me $120. The tips are only 3.5 inches compared to 4" but they are WAAAY cheaper. They are on ebay now and then.
