I agree with all above, but man when you get those DOHC and LT, X, and magnaflow, rev it to 6000RPM......
This is true, they don't make a manifold with a cooler for the earlier style 4V heads, but even still they're making in the mid-420-450rwhp range with just that set up and basic bolt ons. Pretty good when you consider how hard you've got to push the 2V kits in order to make those same numbers. Either way, it doesn't really matter. Vortech, ATI, Paxton and the like all make intercooled systems for the earlier Cobra's that make more than enough power to run with a KB GT.
4v much more to work with than a 2v. cobra better brakes, better suspension, smoother lines. But junky t45 tranny. Now having said that 2v's are not to just be dismissed, they can be driven to perform at the level of a cobra.
wow so i just looked up the kbb on a 98 cobra with 45k miles on it and it was only 10.8k for excellent condition i was really surprised considering i haven't really found any 98 cobra coupes with under 50k for less than 12k
i dont think you can beat the look of a 96-98 saleen (or a cobra [im a saleen fan ]) both models have their pros and cons but if i had the choice, id opt for the 98- cobra heres a cobra to help u make the right choice
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...Cylinder&fuel=&doors=&style_flag=1&cardist=91 What about something like this i know it's a 96, but what's the differences between 96 and 98, because i mean that's super low miles?? If i could talk him down to 11,000 or 11,500? let me know
The '98-'97 models had some overheating issues and a couple of extra bugs that were later worked out in the '98 model year. The '98's also had the 5-star style wheels similar to the ones on the '95 Cobra R. There are a couple of interior differences as well, but therwise, they're essentially the same car.
Here's an idea, get a 99 Cobra which has a lil more power and has the looks and lines of a 99+ GT, just an idea take it or leave it, cause to me i'm not a huge fan of the 94-98 interiors and the rear bumpers are a little plain with the smaller lettering.
