header questions, collector sizes

hey hows it going, i have a 85 mustang gt with headers and h pipe off of a 1988 ford mustang gt. i was hoping tomorrow to get straight pipes put on my car and get rid of the h pipe, heres the question, what size are the collectors on the factory 1988 mustang gt? what size collectors are on all the aftermarket headers? are they all standard or are they all diffrent? reason i ask is cause if i put on straight pipes tomorrow with the factory 1988 headers and i decide to get a new set of headers over the winter will the straight i just put on be no longer any good to me cause the collector on the new header is a diffrent size. thanks alot.

factory exhaust was 2 1/4 inch. a set of aftermarket headers will be ready to mate up to 2 1/2 inch. they can go higher of course but 2 1/2 is usally good enough for most 302's.
