These things are driving me crazy! I am currently porting and polishing the heads on my 98 cobra. So ive decided to purchase a set of headers. I currently have a Dr. Gas X pipe w/ spintech mufflers, and I love the sound. I would like to keep this setup, and that is were I have a problem. It seems for the 98 cobras most companies are only offering Long Tube design, the only company ive seen that makes equal length short tubes is JBA and they want a 1000 bucks for those. :bs: . But I came upon a pair of Ford Racing Shortie Headers that I can get ceramic coated for under 500 bucks. This i figure solves the problem of having to order Long Tubes, then a shorter X pipe, and have to redo the whole system. My question to you guys is, is it worth it for the Frpp headers, and how do they compare to stock? Or should i go with Long tubes and a short X pipe because it makes a substantial increase, and worth the extra cash? Any help or info would be appreciated :nice:

from what i hear the best thing to go with is the Kooks longtube headers and a no-cat short midpipe. (might as well since your car doesnt sound smoggable) :)

The shorties will give you comparable peak gains compared to the long tubes, but the long tubes will give you better gains through out the entire curve, especially through the low and mid RPM ranges...

Yes, shorty headers are better than the stock exhaust manifolds (and longtubes would be better than shorty headers). :)
