HElp Clutch is screwed

    OK so i swaped the pedals outta my gt into the convert to get the clutch pedal. once the motor was in the car i tryed to crank it and the clutch will not disengage i took the tranny out and had someone under the car look and see if the cable was pulling it is but not enough. and i didnt put the spacer for the pedal assy becaus the one in the other car was the same. what is wrong with it? please help!

    Did you remove the slack from the cable?

    HOW DO I REMOVE SLACK FROM THE CABLE? I THOUGHT IT WAS SELF AJUSTING.

    If its a stock cable pull up on the clutch pedal. You will hear it make a ratcheting sound

    OK WE DID THAT AND WE ARE PUTTING A NEW CLUTCH PRESSURE PLAT AND THROUGH OUT BEARING JUS TO BE SURE THAT IS NOTHING IN THE CLUTCH

    You might want to install an aftermarket (metal) quadrant and firewall adjuster. It could save future issues (when the stock pieces strip).

    i agree, my 89 had to have a metal one cuz the plastic ones stripped every 3 or 4 months, a ford racing adjustable was only about $79 in '03, get it if your pressure plate and throw ou bearing aren't the problem...well worth it...

    problem fixed the clutchis working fine now. i think we installed the disk backwards dumb i know but oh well at least it expensive to fix.
