I think their just some cheap muffler shop mufflers. At idle they sound good, but when you rev them up their pretty quiet. Sound good! just too quiet for my taste.
They look stock to me. I have the Dynomax turbo catback off road H and dynomax headers and mine sounds alot louder and meaner than that.
I dont think its that quiet, I think it sounds good. Then again, Im running Delta Flow 40's, and all my other buddies are running 2 chamber flows, and I hate how loud their cars are. Just sounds like crap and all tinny. I prefer it a little more quiet and more deep. Just my opinion.
That's what I have the '90 Lincoln Town Car for - civilized, quiet travel. <--- This is also why I sold the Lincoln to my girlfriend.
lol...you sold a car to your girlfriend...so, just figureatively, you made her save say 2 grand, and then give you it, for her to drive your car. Thats funny $hit....sad $hit, but funny.
Yeah, it's weird. Title's still in my name, and so is the insurance - I just added her name as an "OR" to the title and added her as an approved driver on insurance so she doesn't have to fork over a bunch on insurance premiums per month. (Her having only had a U.S. driver's license for a little over a year would = mondo money. They don't care how long she drove beforehand in Australia ... well, unless they're worried that she's used to driving on the wrong side of the road... ) Anyway, back to the mufflers ... yeah, now that you mention it, they do look a lot like OEM stuff. But didn't the factory muffs have hangers on the back like the Dynomaxes, too? Chances are, he's got a set of OEM-style no-name brand "turbo" REPLACEMENT muffs - maybe not Thrush or Raptors, but something kinda similar in the under-$20 apiece range. I'm thinking FRPP at best, or maybe ... MAYBE some universal-fit Dynomax Super Turbos. Most of the decent performance brands seem to have stopped using those rolled-seam cases a long time back, and usually they now have smooth welded seams like Flowmaster, Hooker, Pypes, Spintech, MAC, etc. So, let me change my vote to Walker "turbo" universal 2.5" offset/offset mufflers.
I agree, not perfect, but good enough for me. Thanks! Figured I'd cap it with chrome and be done with it. Can't see it, but at least I know it's there. Crawled under the car and got these numbers: 522138 9 218 Did a little searching and couldn't find anything with a part number like that, so to those who guessed generic muffler (like me) you're probably right. Thanks for the help anyway guys. Maybe I will buy some DSTs in the future.
