    Hey guys,

I need a quick rundown on the throttle bodies and the throttle position sensors for our cars. Here is the situation.............

My car is with the dealership mechanic right now (Out of warranty) and among the various problems with the car he is now telling my that the TPS is bad and that I'm gonna need a new throttle body assembly which costs $600. My questions are......

1.) If I were to go with an aftermarket TB, do they usually include a new TPS?
2.) Can the TPS just be replaced without replacing the whole throttle body?
3.) If the answer is no to the ?'s above, does anybody know where to pick up a used one for cheap?

Sorry for the noob questions, but I really only know alot about 5.0's as this is the wifes car

    I appreciate all responses!

    1. aftermarket throttle bodies do not include a tps
    2. I dont see why you cant just replace the TPS. it isnt like it's welded on there

is there any other part of the throttle body that could possibly go bad? Like the IAC valve? Isn't there also a motor that controls the opening and closing of the throttle since it's not cable controlled? I'll have to speak to the mechanic again to make sure that it's only the TPS. Thanks for the quick response!

nevermind, the problem was the motor that controls the drive by wire. The mechanic hooked me up so all is well
