hey everyone. I bought my car a couple weeks ago, it came with an alpine cd player that doesn't seem to want to play cds.

It ejects the cd every one i put in. [not burned cds either].

does anyone know how to get it to work? and if the cd players FUBAR, how can i get this one out? I didn't buy the cd player for it, so i don't have the little tools, will any tools work to get it out?

I have a sony headunit from my old car that i could throw in, but also what would i need for it to work correctly?

I have tools from the sony head unit, but they didn't seem to work.

I feel the alpines alot nicer unit, but I would like to be able to play cds in the car.

If it is spitting out every CD (non burned or heavily scratched) then either the laser is really dirty or the unit is defective.

As far as taking it out its really easy. Every alpine I've ever seen uses the same mount. If it has a detachable face then take that off first. Then pop off the plastic trim ring that the face rested in between. You should be see two little rollers, one on either side in the center. Use a little pick tool to slide the rollers up until they unlock from the sides and you should be able to slide the whole unit out. Install is even easier, just slide it back in and the rollers automatically lock when its in place.
