Some of you know what an anal-retentive SOB I am.

My car's been lacking a hood prop clip as long as I've owned it. I've never cared before..but do now.

Ordered a plastic clip from LRS and it didn't fit. I read that 1988 was the changeover year from the metal rod clip to the new plastic kind.

Can someone with a metal clip post a pic, and someone with a plastic clip post a pic? I am not sure which I have, but want to get the right one.

Whoops, i meant the other side, where the loose end is held down when the hood is closed.

Thanks for taking a pic though

No pic but my 88 has a plastic "hold down" clip for the prop rod. The other end that pivots on the body is like what 302 LX Coupe posted above

The aero Foxes had two different size prop rod so there are two different size clips. In my experience with the Ford dealer years ago the black clips are for the small diameter rods and the white clips are for the larger diameter rods. You should be able to find the correct size clip in the HELP section of an auto parts store.
