Keep the gas pedal floored while you quickly stab the clutch pedal down, then shift. Then you slide your left foot off of the clutch pedal, to complete the shift ASAP.

It's pretty easy, I describe the process in great detail in this thread:

all I do is hit the clutch as hard and as quick as possible.. just one quick jab. the main thing to focus on is not missing a gear when you do this.. cuz if you do, you'll definately see the rev limiter

i tend to start pulling back as i stab the clutch pedal down by the time i hit the floor i just remove my foot and i'm done. Gotta really just practice it and figure out your own way. To sum it all up its shifting as fast as you can with your right foot still to the floor

practice powershifting? ouch. i think you should konw what youre doing before you do it. practicing is bad b/c usually when you practice, you make a mistake. powershifting is the fastest way to tear up a clutch and destroy a tranny. if he wants to practice, i would recommend doing it with the car off so he can feel how fast the shift must be. ive powershifted three times in my car. never again. very stupid thing to do, especially just for a good time at the track.

Test drive another Mustang (or other manual tranny equipped car) to try it out the first few times. :p

right foot firmly on floorboard. left foot kicking the snot outta the clutch pedal kinda like a Chuck norris type speed kick. 1-2 upshift yanking shifter back into 2nd like I'm trying to pull tranny into car with me. For the 2-3 upshift feet work the same but I smack the shifter in an upward right direction like it owes me money. then the 3-4 upshift see the 1-2 upshift routine.
Now since I've gotten older and slower I have to do my powershifts while on the spray at 5900 in order not to hit the rev limiter.
Actaully that's pretty much how I always drive the car just in normal driving not as many rpm's.

yup practice it. Never said with the car running or not. I practiced a little witht he car off then did it with the car running. As long as you don't miss a gear your fine. you only mess things up if your to slow or miss a gear....i had my old clutch in the car for 76,000 miles. with over 100 powershifted passes and 20 launches about 5k and it still had some meat to it

You should preload the shifter by very gently pulling back on it, then stab the clutch while keeping the gas floored and throwing the shift lever into your back seat. Practice at a lower rpm before taching out to redline when trying it for the first time. My first time I did it around 4500 rpms.

 I don't really like to do it in my car, but I might need to go rent one of those new Shelby GT-H. I would power shift the hell out of that car!

you don't have to depress the clutch pedal to the floor. First learn how far you need to pres the clutch to change gears, then practice shifting fast while letting off the gas a bit. If you can't shift fast, there is no way you are going to shift fast with the gas floored. Good luck with that.

you guys act like 1 powershift and your done.. My car has been powershifted HUNDREDS of times.. my 6 speed Z28 was powershifted countless times. trust me if it was as bad as you guys say it is I would be on your side, since I rebuild these trannys I would know.

What fun is driving one of these without powershifting
