I have read the thread about how long it takes. But I'm not sure how the money part goes. Do you just put $1000 down and when the car is ready finish with the financing? This maybe an option for me so That will give my current car time to sell. .Not to mention I am closing on a house in a month!
When I order a new car (last time was in 1998 for a GT) I sign a contract and then tell the dealer "if you really want to sell me the car you won't require a deposit" I don't know how this will work for the 2005+ cars. If they require a deposit, I wouldn't go over 500.00 but that is just me.
I have bought a F-150 and Grand Prix on order and each time they asked for a fully refundable deposit of $500.
Ordered mine with $500 deposit. They held the check and returned it to me when I purchased the car, as they said they would.
I just ordered my GT tonight and put down 1,000. Didn't really care if I had to put down all 27,900 since they weren't going to cash it anyway, just give it back when I get the car. Here's a check that means nothing. whatever. I'm getting the car no matter what so I don't care.
Thanks. I ordered a Vita Blue GT with interior upgrade, dark charcol leather, active alarm and spoiler delete. Only problem is I have to wait until January. But I got if for MSRP, so that's the tradeoff (at least here in Portland Oregon) BLAH. Going to be a long winter . . .
I didn't and wouldn't put anything down for a car that the dealer, damn well knows he can sell it in a couple days if you decide not to take delivery for it. No Deposit Required.
If its like anything like last year with the 2005s you might get the car around may or june or maybe never...... If you are looking to pay sticker go shopping on the fords web site to see if there are any Gts in you area....At least you will have the car now and not hopping that you will be getting one in 2006.Because around June they will be taking 2007 orders.....JohnnyT
