Well today i couldn't get my car high enough to install the long tubes. So i went to buy a big jack at checkers. They were closed, and i really wanted to finish tonight. So i went to the 24 hr Auto Zone. BTW I completly hate Auto Zone!!!!!!! They suck, the parts suck, long lines suck, and the worst part there dumbass employes suck big time. So I go in and get what i need. I go to pay with the Debit card. And everything goes tru till the end. And the Card sliding thing says bad read reslide card. So im like **** Auto ZOne sucks!!! Then the guy hands me the receicpt and says if i need help. IM like ummmmm. NO and run of and take of ASAP!!!! I still haven't got any money withdrawl so im happy. Thats what Auto Deserve for being a Dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!!
What'd you get the stick on hood pins, or the light up LED tail pipes? Or was it the official TF&TF map light? The only thing AZ is good for is if you need something at 3 in the morning. My dad used to work at the HQ for Discount Auto Parts and then Advance when they bought them out, so I usually go to them since they were feeding us for a while.
the big chains seem to hire all the people that dont know ****. all the little "local" places are much better. the one time i went to advanced auto i asked the kid (mind you i am 19) at the counter for a 3/8 npt fitting (because they werent on the floor) and he just stared at me.
This is why I go to the same branches. You get to learn who knows their **** and who doesn't. At AZ I had 3 people tell me they couldn't pull my '95 codes before I found the one guy that knew they could.
Though it wouldn't help for things like this: I don't know if you have a Merle's up there, but down here I go to several of their stores and the guys really do a good job. It's real nice for when you need a part and need it to be correct the first time. I've had some weird projects and the guys will take the time to get things right. It reminds me of how the local Napa used to be where I grew up. I also like that they look things up in them paper things that the old folks call books. BTW, did an old Rod Stewart song come on the radio as you walked into the store? "If you want my body and you think I'm..........."
the AZ by me has this promotion were they give you a card. and everytime you spend $20 or more they punch out a slot. once you get all 5 punched out you get a $20 gift card. so the other day i go in and i only have 3 punched out and the guy goes and punches out the last one, makeing all this noise talking about we have a winner. i guess trying to make me feel good about it or something. and i'm looking at the card on the counter and it's clear as day that there one spot not punched, but he seems more distratced by the female employee. and he does all this paper work and validates the gift card and i'm thinking this fool got to be missing something in his DNA. grabbed my **** and walk out quick, hope i'm not there when a manager finds that paper work. lol and i wished there was 24 hour AZ or just a 24hour parts store around me. i think he wanted you to give him a pink sock. lol
I love my autozone... it was a local store called ABC auto... everyone knows your name and stuff... autozone hired everyone back when they bought the store... same good people working
I'm not a big fan of the VatoZone myself. I always use those places for stpid crap like loctite and no-brainer reman parts. For anything else I use Merle's in Tucson. Those guys know their stuff for the most part and it's the only place in town where you can buy 600 degree silicone hose The 24hour A.Z. saved Mo_Dingo and I when his radiator hose epxploded at like 1am. Luckily we were within about 1/2 mile of my house when it happened.
We don't have AZ up here, but we have a somewhat identical canadian version called Parts Source. Same old story, idiots. I swear, they hire people who never owned or worked on a car. One clerk tried to tell me my '94 has a 4.6L in it, and that they stopped making 5.0's in '93. And that the old 302's were really 249 c.i. and not 302 c.i. someone's kid, I tell ya. I took my alternator in one day for them to bench test it, and instead of telling me they didn't know how to test it, they just stared at it for a good 20 minutes and then said it couldn't be tested. I had to show them how to do it. The other day, I went in to pick up an oil pressure switch for my car, and when I told the guy what part I wanted, he had no sweet clue what I was reffering to. He said they were out of stock, then I glanced at his screen and there were listings for headlight bulbs. I asked him how much it was worth, and he couldn't seem to be able to come up with an exact price. So thats it, I'm never shopping there again. I go to Napa for everything now, they know their chit. They save me every time. That was my rant. I'm done now.
Guero... hah, dude i'm gonna take this totally off topic man. but i gotta say, you are probably the most diverse topic starter i have ever seen. most of your threads don't get any more than 20 replies. and you usually start a new thread on the hour, but still... lol diverse man... don't change.
haha i hate auto zone too my dad runs auto value and i was an employee there too so i gotta be loyal. I was in a jam for a radiator hose and they were the only place open so i go in tell them i have a 93 mustang gt and he asks me if it has the 4 cylinder or v8..... i just walked out fixed it the next day when my dad's store was open.
Seriously why would you even apply if you know nothing bout cars??!!!!! Id feel stupid to get hired!!!! Its like getting hired as a chef, when your best meal youve ever made was a bowl of cereal that yo spilled all over the place!!!!!!!!
I always have the problem of them giving me the wrong parts, its not thier fault tho its the computers, they suck! O2 Sensors, they ask before or after cat? I say mustang GT and they ask 3.8 or 5.0. alot of parts listed in the computer are wrong, bleh I just hate going to those places autozone and advance auto, both of them, but I have to =\
damn i remember that. That was a real night killer. But now it's open till 1am only so boooooooo!!!!! I love merle's. Napa isn't too bad either.
they gotta be smarter then the screen in front of them if you say gt and they cant figure out it the v8 thats a true dumb ass i tried to give them a part number for a belt that i got from my dads store and i had all the cross #'s he didn't know how to find it without looking up the car and i said whatever then he tried to tell me it was a diff. number guess who was wrong...AUTO ZONE
Yes there plain dumbassses!!!!!!Since Checkes didn's have the gasket in stock an d i really didn't feel like driving to the store that did in rush hr traffic. I stoped and AZ and asked for the Felpro's 1415. ANd the guy asked for which type of vehicle..... i just stared at him and asked him again and told him it didn't matter... he called his manager. what a dumbass.
