Well I need a new block OR pistons -

New pistons would have to be .030" over, forged with 9.0:1 compression
I would need new rings and bearings as well

New block would have to be bored .020" over, but if I can get a non bored iron block I can get it bored out.

I called VT and they said a new block would be about the same price as getting one directly from Ford - and then I'd have to bore it .020" over - block cost would be $500 + cost to bore

Pistons: I can get Diamond pistons for about $600 not including rings/bearings. Rings and bearings would bring the price to about $800.

DSS says a LVL 10 block would cost 725, bored and all set to go

I forget the piston brand off the top of my head, but they would be $495 for .020" or .030" over and at a 9:1 compression.

What would you do in this situation? My crank and rods are fine, but it's either pistons or a block that I need. Keep in mind I already have forged Mahle pistons that are brand new in the current block, never been turned over with them in.
