Idle Surge only on deceleration?? Any ideas?

I finaly beat the idle surge when the car is just sitting and Idleing. Now it only surges say when i put the clutch in when in 4th or lower, any one know what might cause that, i am thinking a sensor but what one should i try?

I just had similiar issues and my throttle position sensor was showing 3 volts at idle instead of .95, i replaced it and it's fine now.

ya i would try your tps it is supose to keep track of your butterfly at all times to keep it from stalling and keep it running smooth.

I did do that, and it was fine, tracks all the way through it range of motion. i will try it again, any other ideas?

A new one is $60 at the dealer, it'd get my vote that is what you need.

Not sure on the cars with original t5's, but on my aod to t5 swapped car, the computer will rev the engine about 500 rpms upon deceleration. Not sure at what MPH, but apparently it uses the speed sensor to do this. Sounds like your issue is different tho.

well i did do a AOD to T5 swap, where is my speed sension? Right in the tranny?
The TPS is new, just put the throuttle body on before winter, mabey 200 miles on it

The speed sensor is the piggybacked onto the speedo cable. So, in a way it is on the tranny.

The T5 and AOD speed sensor is the same as far as I know. The difference is in the way the computer interprets the info. If it surges just an instant, for about 500rpms, its probably normal and I wouldn't worry about it too much.
