Oil pump problem created engine damage, very quickly. Oil pan was full of those nasty glowing flecks, I think you get the picture! Anyone with advice or help in locating an engine for SVT 4.6L, 1999?

Go on a website called car-part.com. It is a search engine for salvage yards and you should be able to find a replacement quickly. If you think the heads and intake are fine, you can save money by buying a 93-98 Mark VIII engine and performing a mild rebuild and installing your heads/intake onto that short block. Mark VIII engines sell for as little as $250.

yeah the block is the same and it will fit no problem if your going to leave it stock this is probably your cheapest bet, on ebay you can get svt motors for 2500-4k depending on millage

The Mark 8 motor has a 6 bolt cast crank...the Cobra is 8 bolt forged crank. Id look at rebuilding it with strong rods and pistons but it really comes down to budget, and if the crank is OK...or stroke it.
