installing cobra rear brakes

To those of you who have installed a rear cobra disc brake set up on a 99-04GT: (this is for a 2003 GT if that makes a difference)

I am upgrading my rearend components this winter, and I ran across this article on modulardepot:

Which was something I was planning on doing in the near future so being that my rear will be apart as it is I'll do it at the same time.

My questions are:

1. Are the cobra/bullit rear calipers actually the same as stock GT rear calipers and the the rotors and mounting hardware are the only difference? If so, this is all I should need to do this upgrade being that I would be re-using my original rear calipers:

2. Can I still use my quad shocks with the upgraded rear brakes, the article above had to cut off the quad shock mounting brackets to get the kit to fit. Is there a way to avoid this being that I want to keep them for the time being.

Any input you guys can supply is greatly appreciated.

calipers are the same, rear rotors are @ 1" bigger and vented for Cobra, and mounting brackets are all that is different.

But if the rotors are thicker wouldnt the caliper have to be larger to allow the new load caliper proper clearance.

They arent bigger Width wise, I dont think anyway, I know for a fact they are actuall 11.65" rather than just the 10.65" diameter of stock GT brake rotors.

they are wider than the GT rotors. i got new calipers because i didnt want to grind away on my old calipers that didnt hold work a damn.

they are thicker, the cobra pads are thinner.
