PATS=Passive Anti Theft System. you need a factory scan tool to program PATS, ie WDS, NGS+, IDS, PDS.

any partular reason you are changing clusters? the OEM ones list both MPH and KMH

wife has a hard time seeing the small numbers at night, thats all , i found the cluster for 80 bucks on craigslist, i thought i couldnt go wrong, looks like its a bit more complicated than i thought, but now that i have it i would like to follow through with it.

You can take it to the dealer and have the new cluster programmed to your car. Or you can buy a sct x cal3 and have it programmed with a custom tune for your car to turn pats off. They run 379.00 from lasota racing and you get 3 custom tunes plus you can get some extra horsepower.

There are "white" circuit boards on both gauges. Remove the board from your old cluster and put it on your new cluster. This is what I had to do when I switched my GT cluster over to the Bullitt cluster. Car should start right up. It not hard to do. Just take your time. Will save you a dealer reprogramming cost. Yep, this is the answer to your problem. Dealer trip is not needed.
